George L. Hall, a well-known University of Houston alumnus, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013.

Committed to lifelong learning, Mr. Hall earned three degrees from UH, a bachelor’s of science in math in 1959, a bachelor’s of science in industrial engineering in 1977, and a 2011 master’s in industrial engineering at the age of 86. He also earned a master's of science safety from the University of Southern California in 1988.

Vita Como, director of the UH Cullen College of Engineering's career center, has devoted much of her career to passing on words of wisdom to soon-to-be college graduates on how they can land their dream jobs straight out of school.
