Abstract

Container shipping was unknown prior to the 1950s. But that has since changed, and the impact on consumers and manufacturers is unprecedented. Today, intermodal shipping containers form the backbone of our vast, global supply chain. In this presentation, we take a non-technical, historical look at shipping containers and their impact on society.
