Abstract

The Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, located in Houston in the Texas Medical Center, is one of the world’s most respected centers dedicated exclusively to cancer care, research, education, and prevention. MD Anderson aims to provide safe, timely, effective, equitable, efficient, and patient centered care as part of its mission to eliminate cancer. Mr. Connor Burdine, Executive Director of Revenue Cycle Analytics at MD Anderson Cancer Center, will give an overview of Texas Medical Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center and basics of revenue cycle and MD Anderson Priorities. He will also introduce some Access and Revenue Cycle Internship opportunities in his group at MD Anderson.

Biography

Mr. Connor Burdine is a leader who is passionate about improving inefficiencies in healthcare through demonstrating where “waste” exists and educating constituencies about the ROI of changes across clinical, revenue cycle, and research disciplines. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Revenue Cycle Analytics at MD Anderson. He has 15-years experience at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and 5-years experience as an independent Electronic Health Record and Access/Revenue Cycle Consultant. He obtained his BBA Degree from Texas Tech University and MBA from University of Houston Clear Lake. He was also licensed as an EMT Paramedic for 20 years and holds a Lean Green Belt certification from Arizona State University and a Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute.
