Abstract

This seminar will focus on the application of technical Industrial Engineering (IE) concepts at a large, small-volume high-mix manufacturing and services company. Examples will be covered in the use of Queuing Theory, Decision Making, Optimization, Data and Text Mining, and Process and Flow Simulation towards solving pertinent business problems. Strong technical background in IE combined with the ‘soft’ people skills that most IEs come armed with make them indispensable in industry. The goal is to understand the importance of a great theoretical foundation that can set you apart in an industrial setting.
