Health spending accounted for 18.3% of the U.S. gross domestic product in 2021, reaching $4.3 trillion (National Health Expenditure Accounts, 2021). The healthcare sector consists of industries including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, equipment, distribution, facilities, and managed health care. As the population grows, the demand for healthcare services continues to rise. This trend presents a tremendous opportunity to pursue a career in healthcare.
The industry has faced significant staffing challenges across various roles, notably nursing, patient care technicians, and ancillary services. These staffing shortages have forced organizations to be hyper-focused on creating cultures that attract the best and brightest talent
