Abstract

Dr. Chad Wilson will discuss the main obstacle to presentation effectiveness and how to make presentations more engaging so that the audience understands more. He explains the difference between a report and presentation and how most people present PowerPoint slides that should really be considered drafts, not the final presentation.

Biography

Dr. Chad Wilson is the Director of Technical Communications for the College of Engineering where he works for the Dean's Office directing all sections of the undergraduate course ENGI 2304: Technical Communications for Engineers. His BA is in technical writing, and his PhD is in 19th Century British Literature. His current research interests include engineering education as well as studies of popular culture and Marxism. He is currently working on a paper about Marxist alienation and style in the TV show Mad Men.
