To build an awareness of ethical problems and reasoning, a number of case studies will be presented to illustrate the consequences of poor ethical decisions in engineering.
Dr. Long has been a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston for the past 42 years. He is presently Associate Dean of Undergraduate Research and the Honors College, was Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering from 1981-1995, was Interim Dean of the Honors College from 2008-2009, and in 2010-2011 served as Interim Vice Chancellor and Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer. In 2009 he was named as the first recipient of the University of Houston Career Teaching Excellence Award, and in 2010 he received the Esther Farfel Award, the highest faculty award given at the University of Houston. His research interests are in the broad area of applied electromagnetics and more specifically in microstrip and dielectric resonator antennas.
